1. Sunlight hits the solar panel (photovoltaic cells).

4. The current is captured by the panel's wiring.
5. The direct current (DC) electricity is converted to alternating current (AC) by an inverter.
6. The AC electricity can be used to power homes and other devices. 

The manufacturer, TSUN, is a pioneer in solar technology for use in the home-setting. The system is safety tested to CE-mark and G98/99 standards and allows the owner to simply plug the system into a normal UK 3-pin plug. Magic! 

As a professional company, we do not promise how much you can save by using the Plug-In UK SOLAR KIT solutions because there are many variable factors such as angle of the panel, how much your energy provider charges you, sunshine hours and so on. 

However, we know that these kits generate electricity to power your home appliances which will reduce your energy bills. 

Our Plug-In UK SOLAR KIT generates solar energy for self-consumption at home. The energy it produces is used directly by appliances. This prevents your household from having to buy that energy from your electricity provider, reducing your electricity bills.

For example, if the solar kit produces 1,500 kWh per year and you pay £0.25/kWh to your electricity company, you will save £375 per year (1,500 kWh x £0.25/kWh = £375). 

Please keep in mind, some savings are better than no savings

You are also reducing carbon emissions using these kits.  

The Plug-In UK SOLAR KITS come with all necessary components for you to install the system. It includes the microinverter, mounting system, and cabling. 

This design ensures that once the system is mounted, it can be immediately connected to your power supply using a normal 3-pin UK plug.

No, Plug-In UK SOLAR KITS are grid-tied which means that they need an active 230V/50Hz mains grid in order to operate.

Any excess electricity generated by a Plug-In UK SOLAR KIT and not used by appliances will be sent back to the UK National Grid. This happens automatically, and is completely normal and legal. If you have an old rotary meter it may spin backwards but newer meters sometimes flash red to indicate reverse power. This is normal but we advise informing your electricity supplier if you are installing a Plug-In UK SOLAR KIT. 

The Plug-In UK SOLAR KIT is fully modular and upgradable. You can simply plug the kits together. The system is completely adaptable to suit your needs for now and in the future. Just Plug-In and Play!

The current Smart Export Tariff requires solar installations to be undertaken by MCS accredited installers. The components that make up the Plug-In UK SOLAR KIT have the relevant MCS accreditations and G98/99 Certifications to be suitable for an installation for the Smart Export Tariff , but these will need to be installed by an MCS accredited installer in order to apply for the tariff.

Yes. Once you have installed, inspected and tested your Plug-In UK SOLAR KIT, it is a requirement that you complete and return a G98 Engineering Recommendation Form to your Distribution Network Operator (DNO) within 28 days.

The Plug-In UK SOLAR KIT does not store any energy. When the sun is out the panels will supply energy to the house mains circuit and be used to help power appliances. In order to store any energy you would need a battery system. 

The Plug-In UK SOLAR KIT will turn off in the event of a power outage. This is to ensure that no power is being fed into the grid whilst it is inactive. This is a requirement under the G98 regulations.

Installing the Plug-In UK SOLAR KIT is quite simple and all the tools you need are included. A DIY instruction guide is sent out with every system.

We provide a UK 48 hour TRACKED delivery service which covers all the UK apart from UK Islands and Scottish Highlands (as defined by the couriers). 

Please note that shipping times can vary depending on factors outside our control such as weather, traffic incidents and so on. 

Cut off time for orders is 12 noon Monday to Friday. We do not process orders on Weekends or Bank Holidays at the moment.
